Reflections and “Dreams”

Music has always played a big part in my life. Whether it was an escape or a sought out old friend. Having played in school bands, sung in choirs and later on in life DJd online, I have prided myself in being able to find songs with lyrics that tell a story, that when listened to on their own or in a set of similar songs, tell those listening something about me, as the chooser and about my emotions at the time of choosing. I plan on introducing you to some of my favourite artists and their songs through this, my blog. I hope they allow you to reflect, dream and relate to the same emotions they evoke in me.

Looking back over the months I have shared with Angelika, I realize how much I have grown. I am so thankful to have her in my life, to be able to share such priceless memories. We have many songs that bring smiles to our faces, cause us to reflect and for me, personally to realize that dreams do come true. The lyrics of this song are excellent. I hope you enjoy.

Dreams (performed by The Cranberries)

Oh, my life is changing everyday,
In every possible way.
And oh, my dreams, it’s never quite as it seems,
Never quite as it seems.

I know I’ve felt like this before, but now I’m feeling it even more,
Because it came from you.
And then I open up and see the person falling here is me,
A different way to be.

Ah, la da ah…
La…

I want more impossible to ignore,
Impossible to ignore.
And they’ll come true, impossible not to do,
Impossible not to do.

And now I tell you openly, you have my heart so don’t hurt me.
You’re what I couldn’t find.
A totally amazing mind, so understanding and so kind;
You’re everything to me.

Oh, my life,
Is changing every day,
In every possible way.

And oh, my dreams,
It’s never quite as it seems,
‘Cause you’re a dream to me,
Dream to me.

Ah, da, da da da, da, la…
