A Poem

As multifaceted crystals of white flutter from a gray-blue sky,
people mutter curses as they,
with small shovels wrapped in gloved hands
bare their cars to the cloud-shrouded sun once more.

In the distance, church bells clang the hour.
Their peel carrying across blanketed fields
to be welcomed by the barks and prancing of dogs
spending a penny in footprint caverns.

While I, in the warmth of the apartment peer
through blinded windows as puppies snore.
Inhaling slowly, the dark richness of coffee
brings a realization of thirst to mind.

Positive thoughts, Gothic buildings and history
surround me and within this environment
my muse resides
in her realm of inspiration.
