I’d like to take a few moments of your time to tell you why I relay.
This time last year I was giving thanks for second chances. I had been a survivor and a caregiver. Later on in the relay season, July 4th to be precise, another reason was added. I was told I faced the battle again, the journey from laughter and light into darkness and tears and hopefully back out again.
This year I am relaying as a caregiver and two time survivor and I am not only relaying for those who face the rocky path through the darkness, but for those who care for them. Be they friends, work-mates or family. I am relaying for each person that said prayers and held me in their thoughts as I traveled my path.
Relay For Life, because of life, because you love.
